Respected Sir/Madam, Al Mehran Research and Development Foundation (AMRDF), is a registered non-profit organization operating in District Sanghar since 1998, has been actively engaged in providing support to affected communities in the region. Recently, AMRDF participated in a joint observatory mission with UNOCHA, IOM, FAO, PHF, and NHN to assess damages and losses at a relief camp established for internally displaced persons (IDPs) of villages surrounding the Rohri Canal in Tando Adam. The camp was established due to breach in the Rohri Canal. IDPs are settled some in Govt public School Tando Adam and some are settled in open. There is dire need for shelter arrangements for them including mosquito nets, tents etc. Recent advisor of PDMA has suggested heavy rainfall which may severely affect the relief camp and surrounding areas, displacing residents of Sanghar where rural areas have been submerged in water. The situation demands immediate attention and resource mobilization to provide urgent assistance to the affected communities. AMRDF's efforts highlight the need for collective action to address the dire consequences of the recent rains in District Sanghar. It is crucial to engage resources and support to alleviate the suffering of the affected populations and help them recover from this crisis. In this regards, assistance is required in the following areas, food, shelter, Hygiene and sanitation, Tools and equipment’s, clothing and personal items and cash assistance. We would appreciate your assistance in this regard, you may reach out to us on almehranngo@gmail.com, 0301-3813519. On Fri, 30 Aug 2024, 4:40 pm IZHAR Sumera, <suizhar@iom.int> wrote:

Dear HCT members and Donors,
Following an OCHA led inter-agency fact-finding (low profile assessment) mission last week to Katcha areas of Khairpur in Sindh province, coupled with OCHA and Humanitarian Partners' advocacy to the local authorities. The district authorities in Khairpur are now paying attention to the more than 25,000 people affected by floods in the Katcha areas.
We will appreciate if humanitarian actors can coordinate their response with PMDA, DDMA and OCHA to mitigate duplicity.
Attached is a letter issued by Khairpur district authorities for localized response.
In the meantime, OCHA in close coordination with Sindh PDMA and PMD continues to monitor the projected impact of cyclone/tropical depression mainly in Sindh over the weekend.
Thanks, Gift
