In collaboration with the district administration, Qatar Charity initiated a recovery and rehabilitation project for flood-affected communities, including the reconstruction of 12 houses through the 'Model Basti' initiative. This program focused on providing permanent homes to the vulnerable villagers, offering them a sense of security and dignity after the disaster. Women's housing, land, and property (HLP) rights are crucial for their security and inclusion. Cultural norms and discrimination often hinder these rights, exacerbated by conflict and displacement. Shelter programs must offer suitable housing, address legal barriers, prevent eviction, and employ inclusive, collaborative approaches.
