Dear Sector partners,
As you are aware Gawadar has been affected by torrential rains and floods on 28 and 29 Feb, and as per NDMA we are expecting more rains over the weekend. As per initial update from NDMA,
- Approx 50-60% of dewatering process has been completed.
- 250 x houses have been reportedly damaged uptill now.
- 21 x individuals have been injured due to flood / wall collapses and are under treatment at medical centres.
- People from damaged houses have been shifted in rescue centres.
- 200,000 water purifications tabs have been distributed in Gawadar and Turbat by Health Department Balochistan.
- Response of PDMA Bln and Distr Administration of Gawadar has been appreciable.
Shelter NFI CCCM sector is in close communication with NDMA and PDMA Balochistan and we are closely monitoring the situation on ground. We kind request partners to share stocks list and potential response in Gawadar or any other districts.
